DUBLIN, Ireland: New figures show that just over 3,000 applications were made between January and March this year — a drop of more than 40 per cent compared to the 5,100 applications during the same period last year, according to The Irish Times.

In the first quarter of the year, 1,008 deportation orders were issued, compared with 305 in the first three months of 2024.
A charter flight to Georgia in February marked the first such deportation flight in a number of years.
