DUBLIN, Ireland: Dublin Airport officials have pledged to ensure that 90 percent of all passengers clear security in 20 minutes or less before the start of the Easter travel period.
Last year, there was much criticism leveled at Dublin Airport after passengers were missing flights because of the long waits when passing through airport security.
Besides decreasing security waiting times, a plan, entitled 'Better DUB Improvement Plan' includes overfall improvements in security, cleanliness, staff support, transport and amenities for travelers, such as seating, wi-fi and charging points.
Further, an additional 400 seats will be added for passengers throughout the airport, as well as family seating areas in Terminal 1.
A doubling of wifi speeds for travelers is planned, along with 20 percent more power sockets and USB ports will be installed so travelers are able to charge their devices.
To improve the ease of getting to and from the airport, a 20 percent increase in taxi permits will be issued, as well as a 15 percent rise in airport bus routes.
Dublin Airport developed the overall improvements after coming under criticism for a proposed plan to collect tolls from drivers dropping off and picking up passengers.
